Solo performance

Supported by Dansateliers Rotterdam, performed at Lantaren Venster Theater.

This solo is an attempt to create a character through the dissociative manipulation of sound, movement, and clothes. I took sound material out of its original context, mixed it and replayed it within the frame of the choreographic content to see what would happen. I was curious to see if a character could emerge out of unrelated materials. And if so, who would he be?

Fifteen new makers in dialogue – with each other, with dance, with an audience. Dansateliers wants to get to know makers by collaborating in the studio. Every year fifteen new makers are invited to participate in a series of workshops, exchange feedback and create dance sketches for presentation in the studio or the theater.
